Shed the “bowtie” and put on the SPoRT jacket

SPoRT is processing the MODIS imagery to correct the “bowtie” effect seen near the edges of the swath.  This new data is being used within the SPoRT MODIS-GOES Hybrid product seen in this D2d image of 11um data.  Notice (click on image twice to get full view) the striping in the IR data of the upper left D2d panel over the Gulf, southeast of LA and how it’s more operative in the larger image.  Also note the GOES data in the larger panel where no data appears to the right of the swath image.  Subsequent times use the GOES data as a base and insert high resolution MODIS data as it’s available (not shown).
