Early season Snow Cover via MODIS RGB over Southwest

MODIS Snow-Cloud RGB from 2011 Dec. 6 at 2046 UTC.

Second round of snow covers nearly all of the New Mexico eastern plains and parts of TX panhandle.  MODIS Snow-Cloud RGB imagery nicely shows the snow extent in data spare areas as shown in this image from the National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center’s webpage of 24-hour snowfall for December 5th.

24-hour snowfall from NOHRSC ending at 06Z on December 6
